TARIEN ENGELBRECHT

"There is beauty in the strangest and ugliest objects. My artworks are an
expression of these objects’ etherial beauty..I try to capture the delicacy and
fragility of discarded everyday objects. Entomological and botanical subjects, dead or alive as well as historical refereces to Delft are favourite themes I love exploring. My love of watercolours and realism help me to express the sublime quality of these subjects. My work dwells between being illustrative and painterly."
